Summer Wine Walk - Saturday August 16, 2014



Farmer's Market & Cruise Nights - Summer 2014

The summertime Barrington Cruise Nights start May 29th and are out in the center of the village every Thursday (weather permitting) from 6 PM - 8:30 PM through the end of August.  The Pub is once again proud to be a major sponsor of this event, and we will be serving food on the events dated June 12th (Ford & Mercury), July 3rd Red, White & Blue cars), July 31st (convertibles) and August 21st (Corvettes).  Be sure to come visit us!


Additionally starting on June 19th and every Thursday through mid-October is the Barrington Farmer's Market, which runs runs 2 PM - 7 PM (rain or shine) right outside our main doors off of Park Avenue.



ChristKindl Festival - December 6-8, 2013

ChristKindl Festival is an open-air event during the holiday season featuring authentic German food, drinks, fun activities for families and kids crafts, live reindeer, carousel & train rides, even Santa's house.  The Pub is a sponsor and food vendor for this event!  For more details visit their website at www.christkindlfest.com.




Barrington's Annual Holiday Tradition - December 7, 2013

Candy Cane Festival – Foundry Shopping Center, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Begin your day with free reindeer antlers from Calico Corners, then on to the children’s petting zoo and photos with the Santa from 10 - 12. Write a letter to Santa at Little Shop of Papers and at sample a gingerbread cookie at Ambrosia.  Climb aboard and explore a Barrington fire truck, and visit participating retailers for special treats.


Winter Wonderland – Ice House Mall on Applebee Street, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Visit Winter Wonderland at 10:30 a.m. for a a special holiday dance presentation of The Nutcracker by the Midwest Dance Collective followed by a magical story hour by Mrs. Claus with cookies & milk at 11:00 a.m. Then Santa arrives on the Holiday Trolley to greet the children at 12:30 p.m.! Special culinary gingerbread on display, too! Join the fun!


Holidazzle Fest - The Shops at Flint Creek – 10:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Step out of the cold and into Heinen’s to take in the sights and smells of holiday cooking, entertaining and merrymaking throughout the store.   Children can decorate Christmas sugar cookies and parents can watch cooking demonstrations and taste an assortment of wine, beer & food pairings.  Stop next door at Meatheads for more surprises and fun. 


Gingerbread Lane – The Shops on Lageschulte Street - 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Lageschulte Street comes to life as Gingerbread Lane for a day, lined with giant gingerbread people and candy canes. The Chicago Redhots Acapella Group will delight the crowd, and children will have a “snowy” experience at Norton’s U.S.A. Santa arrives on the Holiday Trolley on his way to the Annual Tree Lighting Celebration.


Barrington Aglow - Annual Tree Lighting - Village Center on S Cook Street – 1:00 – 6:30 p.m.

**These events are happening right outside The Pub and The Annex!**

Free carriage rides from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. with cookies and hot cocoa served while you wait. The Madrigal Singers will be strolling on Cook Street, and Santa arrives on the Barrington Fire Engine at 5:00 p.m. to light the holiday tree! After his arrival, Santa will visit with children in his red Santa House on South Cook Street. Remember to bring a camera to capture those memorable moments with Santa.




Holiday Wine Walk - Saturday November 23, 2013


The merchants in downtown Barrington will host a Holiday Wine Walk on Saturday, November 23, 2013, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. This event is planned to kick off the holiday shopping season by introducing shoppers and visitors to the unique shops and restaurants in Barrington. The Holiday Wine Walk will offer free wine tastings and other tasty treats at each of the merchant stops. In addition, there will be wine tastings at The Annex, Vin Chicago and Grassroots from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Over thirty shops and restaurants are participating in this enjoyable event. Customers can begin the Holiday Wine Walk at any of the participating businesses by picking up a location map for the tastings. This is a wonderful opportunity for shoppers and visitors to experience the shops and restaurants in downtown Barrington, the Shops on Lageschulte and the Ice House Mall, and to highlight their merchandise, unique gifts and specialty items. Plan to spend the day walking around town, tasting good wine, socialize with friends, find that unique one of a kind gift, then settle in for a wonderful dinner at one of the fine dining establishments in Barrington. 


This season's participants include: Village Center Merchants: Acacia Organics, Angelina, Barrington Flower Shop, Bravura Home and Gift Shop, Gene Ann's Yarns, Grassroots, Mia Sorella, Notice, ReDeFind, The Annex, Anderson's Candy Shop, Urban Flair and Vin Chicago. Lageschulte Street Merchants: Norton's U.S.A. and the Pink Geranium. Barrington Commons Merchants: Carol and Company, Fleur di Lis Salon, and Pink Heaven Bakery. The Ice House Mall Merchants: Solisq Accessories, Tina Han Gallery, Barrington Cultual Arts Center, Once in a Blue Moon, Savvy Spirit, Tommy Terri and Tootsies.


The Wine for this event is provided by Heinen's Fine Foods, Near Restaurant, McGonigal's Pub/The Annex, Grassroots, Ciao Baby, Jewel-Osco, Cooper's of Barrington, Vin Chicago and Chessie's.
