We can't express strongly enough how sad we are to have closed, but a truly heartfelt THANK YOU goes out to our staff, loyal patrons, family, friends and the entire Barrington community for the nearly fourteen years of support. We will sincerely miss all of you.

There may be a short hiatus with further updates to this page, but they will be posted above these older writeups.  We'll be back in action soon with some relevant info on the Pub and future ventures. With a new year comes new opportunities, and we'll be part of that plan!

Happy New Year everyone, and on behalf of all the (former) Pub staff and the McGonigal family we wish you nothing but the best in 2024.

The final few days of business are upon us, and our usual daily specials END TODAY with the popular Burgers Thursday and our Happy Hour.  However, we'll be rolling out some "End of an Era" weekend specials starting tomorrow (Friday).  More details will be posted here on our End of an Era page and on Facebook.

Nollaig shona dhaoibh!  For our very last time, on behalf of the entire Pub staff we wish all of you & yours a very Merry Christmas.  We will be open today starting at 5:00 PM, full bar service but no kitchen service,  Some snacks may be provided, but feel free to bring some Christmas leftovers to share with fellow patrons!

Though we have every intention of keeping our "everyday" items stocked for service and have made efforts to do so, the incredible outpouring of support and patronage has caused us to run short & out of some of our main items such as Guinness and Miller Lite drafts, plus several food items.  With the Christmas holiday prohibiting additional orders, our hands are now tied until Tuesday.  We apologize for this unexpected inconvenience but THANK YOU for your understanding.

The "End of an Era" Pub celebration for the weekend of December 29th - 31st is mostly set; featured entertainment will be Fast Eddie McAteer, Blues Demolition, Morgan Fingleton, The Rolling Blackouts plus perhaps an Irish New Years Eve event and other special guests still TBA.  Full details will be posted here early next week on our "New Years Eve" page in our Events section.

Adjusted holiday schedule/hours of operation:

Sunday December 24 - normal business hours, but our kitchen will be closing at 7:00 PM so BOH staff can spend some evening time with family.

Monday December 25 - MERRY CHRISTMAS!  The Pub will open at 5:00 PM with full bar service but no kitchen service.  Various snacks may be provided.

Sunday December 31 - this will be our LAST day of business, and we will stop regular business service at midnight.  Note that over this weekend (December 29-31) we will be doing our "End of an Era" party which leads into New Years Eve.  More details to be posted very soon.

The last hurrah for popular Irish musician Paul Byrom at the Pub - he is here this coming Friday, December 15th for a special 7:30 PM Christmas Concert in The Loft.  Paul has performed here many times in the past when he's on tour, and we're definitley going to miss him.  It's a ticket-only event so please check out his website and click here for further details.

We will be opening at 9:00 AM tomorrow (Saturday 12/9) for the Manchester United - AFC Bournemouth match. Looking at the schedule through years end, this will likely be our last "early" opening so please join us!  We are also planning to have a small complimentary breakfast buffet available at halftime.

Plans are in motion for an "End of an Era" celebration the weekend of December 29th - 31st.  We will make the final days memorable!  Details to follow in the near future.

This Saturday (December 2nd) the Village of Barrington is hosting the annual holiday festivities, with the Santa house, tree lighting ceremony and other activities right outside the Pubs front doors!  Details on all the events can be found on the Village website.

Congratulations (and thank you) to our hometown Barrington Broncos football team for a fantastic 12-1 season, which will have them finishing as one of the top four teams in the state.  The Pub is very proud to have supported the team this year and all the ones in the past!

Due to some technical reasons, unfortunately we won't be able to show the Barrington Broncos vs. Lincoln-Way East playoff game tomorrow (Saturday 11/18).  Note that it is being broadcast through the NFHS subscription service, and you can click here for the link (this is the only official site confirmed through BHS).

Here's a look at our upcoming holiday schedule:

Wednesday November 22 - the entire Pub (main level and The Loft) will be open for "Blackout Wednesday" normal business hours (until 1:00 AM).  Entertainment details will be posted soon on the right side of this page.

Thursday November 23 - HAPPY THANKSGIVING! The Pub opens for full bar service at 5:00 PM.  No kitchen/dinner service available, but snacks may be provided.

Sunday December 24 - normal business hours, and our kitchen will be closing at 8:00 PM so BOH staff can spend some evening time with family.

Monday December 25 - MERRY CHRISTMAS!  The Pub will open at 5:00 PM with full bar service but no kitchen service.  Various snacks may be provided.

Sunday December 31 - normal business hours, and at the time of this writing we are planning a "casual" New Years Eve party (details forthcoming at a later date).

Monday January 1, 2024 - HAPPY NEW YEAR!  Normal business hours and full service at the Pub.

November 10, 2023

Updating some confirmed sports viewing Saturday (11/11) at the Pub - we will be opening at 9:00 AM for the Manchester United - Luton Town match, then we'll have our Nebraska Huskers vs. Maryland at 11:00 AM, and later in the afternoon we'll be showing our Barrington Broncos vs. Maine South at 5:00 PM.

We're already looking forward to Saturday as our Barrington Broncos host Maine South in the 8A state football playoff quarterfinals (kickoff 5 PM)!  The Pub is the official spot for the BHS Quarterback Club parents & fans to gather for pre-game festivities but we happily welcome visiting fans to also stop here for some great food & drinks.  Also, for those who aren't going to the game we'll be showing it with sound.  GO BRONCOS!

This coming Sunday (11/5) we're having a football watch party for the Bears-Saints game; it will feature all-you-can-eat pizza and gumbo for $25 per person.  Details forthcoming and they will be posted on the right side of this page.
