The Village of Barrington continues to cultivate and support its wonderful community, and the growth of the village has never been more apparent than now.  With new businesses and entertainment options flourishing, Barrington truly has become a great place to live, work and play.  Building on such rich traditions as the Independence Day Celebration, Brew Fest, Cruise Nights, the Art Festival, Homecoming Day and Scarecrow Fest, the Village is thrilled to announce the addition of a celebration that was new to Barrington in 2011 but has become another fantastic annual event.

The 2nd annual Barrington Celtic Fest will take place on Friday March 16th and Saturday March 17th on the 200 block Park Avenue, just East of South Cook Street and including McGonigal’s Pub. The two-day festival will run all day on Friday (11 AM - 2 AM), and on St. Patrick's Day the Pub will open early at 9 AM and go until 2 AM!  A large heated tent will be erected over a good portion of Park Avenue so patrons can enjoy the celebration outdoors without worries about the fickle March weather!

**Tent times: 11 AM - 1 AM both days**

The agenda for the days includes live music, a mix of local retail restaurants and merchants, various entertainment including Irish dancers, bagpipers, special guest appearances, and of course plentiful availability of food and beverages both in the outdoor festival area and the pub.

Admission to the tent and pub is FREE for both days during the day, though we are requesting a nominal $5 event fee charge for all arrivals after 6:00 PM.  This will help support the ACS Relay For Life and other fest costs.  Wristbands will be provided and one donation is good for both days.

Sorry, but there will be NO special seating or reservations of any type taken during either day of the Celtic Fest.  Seating will be available in our Pub 2nd level for dining on a first come, first served basis.  There will also be tables in the Festival Tent and some available at Park Avenue Wine Bar, again on a first come, first served basis. Additionally, NO COUPONS will be honored on March 16th and 17th.

The Pub will be offering a limited menu INSIDE on Thursday & Friday, providing Corned Beef & Cabbage, Fish & Chips, Irish Stew, Reubens...and for the kids we'll have Chicken Fingers and Mac & Cheese (both options served with fries).  In the tent the Pub will be offering Corned Beef Sandwiches, Brats and Hot Dogs . . . plus more food options through Clarke's Bakery & Deli, Cooper's of Barrington and Park Avenue Wine Bar will be available.  During both days the Pub offers full bar service in both levels of the pub, and in the tent we'll be serving Guinness, Harp, Smithwicks, Killian's Irish Red and of course Miller Lite green beer.  There will also be some select wine options, courtesy of Park Avenue Wine Bar.  Pepsi, Diet Pepsi and water will also be available at the Pub food station and through Park Aveune Wine Bar.

Note - in the festival tent, all beverages and food will be CASH ONLY.  Credit cards can be used for services within the pub.

The Barrington Celtic Fest is focusing on food, drink and fun, with local and Irish merchants on hand.  Families are certainly welcome, but please understand that it's still St. Patrick's Day at an Irish Pub, which inevitably becomes more of an adult "holiday" as the evening arrives.  Please use your best judgment with younger family members during the day, and on both days after 6:00 PM the Pub and Festival tent will be 21+ in age.
